Safe Family Alliance – Rockingham/Kwinana Network
Monthly meetings are held inviting the whole community including community members, Local Government agencies and Service Providers delivering support in this area. This is an opportunity to address the local issues, priorities and community aspirations in developing a whole of community approach to keeping our families safe.
Safe Family Alliance – White Ribbon Events
Run annually to raise awareness about violence against women in our local community. Allows women to connect with other women in the community, share their stories and find out what support is available for them. There are guest speakers, mindfulness activities and other activities incorporated.
Safe Family Alliance – Community Cuppa
Join other women in your local community for a welcoming, inclusive fortnightly coffee catch-up. Share stories, enjoy a cuppa and a fun craft activity. Children are welcome to attend and there will be an children’s activity corner set-up.
This is an opportunity to get to know other women in your community in a relaxed social environment. Coffee and tea will be provided!
Peer to Peer Support – Dads and Kids Adventures
This initiative recognises the importance of Dad’s health and well-being as well as encouraging Dad’s to connect with one another and their children. These adventures take place in a different location each week and are a great opportunity to connect with your kids in the great outdoors, as well as meet other local dads (or Father Figures).
Peer to Peer Support – Kids Go Wild
Monthly events across Cockburn to encourage children to explore nature. Also an opportunity for parents to meet each other, talk about parenting and make new connections.
International Women’s Day
We held two events for IWD – in Cockburn and Kwinana. These free events were open to all women in the local community to share experiences, meet other like-minded women and hear from inspiring panel members.
